Guernsey Eisteddfod Speech and Drama

 

Please hand in your entries for 2009 Eisteddfod on Saturday 8th November 2008, between 2.00pm - 4.30pm at The States Education Centre, The Grange, St Peter Port.

Mrs Joyce Cook MBE has been the Executive Officer of the Speech and Drama Section of the annual Guernsey Eisteddfod Festival for more than fifty years. During that time the Section has grown and developed and we now attract entries in the region of three to four hundred participants, ranging in age from six to eighty years. Many more people are actually involved as we have a strong field of entries in the Choral Speaking classes and each entry can comprise up to about thirty children.

This forthcoming Festival will see a few changes – some classes have been amalgamated and a choice of set poem is offered for the younger age groups.

Hopefully these changes will make the Speech and Drama competitions more enjoyable for both participants and audience.
